Dr. Whitney Morehead has been an administrator at Summit Lakes Middle School since 2011. For the 2017-2018 school year she is responsible for the 7th grade student services, magazine sales, business partnership, school portfolio, and parent newsletter. She also is the administrative advisor for the homeroom program and yearbook.
Dr. Morehead earned a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from St. Louis University in 2015 and a Specialist Degree in Secondary Administration from the University of Central Missouri in 2010. In 2005, she earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Central Missouri. In 2003, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Truman State University.
Dr. Morehead began her educational career at Summit Lakes Middle School in 2004 as the In-School Suspension supervisor. During the 2005-2006 school year, she served as both a Study Skills teacher and a Speech and Theatre teacher. From 2006-2011, she taught Communication Arts for the Falcon team. In addition, Dr. Morehead has served as the head varsity softball coach for Lee’s Summit West High School since 2008. Prior to that, she was the junior varsity softball coach at Lee’s Summit West High School from 2004-2008.
