It is time to begin scheduling Parent/Teacher conferences. As is true with most traditions this year, conferences at Summit Lakes will look a little different. This year we will be hosting virtual parent/teacher conferences using Google Meet. Parents will be able to schedule ten-minute conferences with any of their child’s teachers using the PowerSchool Portal. Due to the number of students on each teacher’s caseload, teachers will be unable to meet with every student’s parent/guardian. As a result, we will have to limit families to only one conference per teacher. Also, please consider limiting the total number of conferences to no more than 3-5 teachers. Parent-Teacher Conferences will be Wednesday, November 4th and Thursday, November 5th from 7:00am – 7:00pm.
On Thursday, October 22, we will begin taking appointments for conferences at 8:00 a.m.

Directions for attending Parent/Teacher Conferences:
1. CLICK HERE for directions
2. Wait for the teacher to grant access. Most teachers will have full schedules, so you may have to wait for the conference scheduled before you to end before you will be granted access to join.
At the time of your child’s conference you will go to meet.google.com to access Google Meet and enter the code from your email confirmation. Please wait to enter the conference until the time you are scheduled. You will be able to enter the Google Meet after the teacher has finished their previous conference.
Due to security changes Google has implemented specifically for Google Meet within a school district, you will not be able to join the Google Meet session for your child’s conference without having a Google account. If you already have a Google account (such as a Gmail address), there is nothing more you need to do. However, you will be prompted to login with a Google account before you are allowed to access the Google Meet session for your child’s Parent/Teacher conference.
If you do not have a personal Google account, you may also use your child’s Google account to access the meeting. As a reminder, your child’s username and password for their LSR7 Google account can be found by clicking the Student Credentials tab in the PowerSchool parent portal. We suggest having your child’s username (their full email address including the @lsr7.net) and password ready in preparation for the virtual parent/teacher conference should you need it.
We hope that you will have an opportunity during Parent/Teacher Conferences to learn more about your child’s academic progress, your child’s teachers, and ask questions. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call us at 986-1375.
