Middle School Transition

Sixth grade is moving to middle school starting in 2022!

LSR7 is transforming the middle school environment to support a grades 6-8 middle school model. Our sixth-grade-to-middle-school transition has several components. 

• A new fourth middle school: Thanks to the support of LSR7 voters, the district is currently constructing East Trails Middle School on SE Bailey Road and renovating our three existing middle schools.
• New middle school boundaries: The Board of Education approved new middle school boundaries in October 2021.
• Enriched middle school curriculum: A programming committee developed new academic and extracurricular opportunities for our middle school environment.
• A collaborative naming process: Learn more about the process that led to the naming of East Trails Middle School.
