Dr. Mitchell joined the Summit Lakes school community as principal in 2017. During his 28 year career in education, Dr. Mitchell has served as an elementary and middle school teacher, middle school assistant principal, and 20 years as a middle school building principal.
Dr. Mitchell received his BSED from the University of Missouri-Columbia, Masters and Specialist degrees in School Administration from the University of Central Missouri, and completed his Doctorate in Education Leadership from William Woods University.
Building and sustaining relationships with students, parents, and staff has become a cornerstone of Dr. Mitchell’s administrative beliefs. Throughout his career, he has led with the focus on fostering a school culture that meets the academic and social, and emotional needs that are so important to the success of middle school students, not only in the classroom but also in life.

Marsha Hasty, M.S.

Mrs. Hasty will be serving as the 6th-Grade Assistant Principal at Summit Lakes Middle School for the second year. Prior to that, she was in the Raymore-Peculiar School District as an ELA Teacher. Mrs. Hasty was also heavily involved in the education of her three children as they attended schools in Lee’s Summit. She was a parent volunteer, participated in PTA, and was a substitute teacher. She is fortunate enough to have had a variety of opportunities that prepared her for this platform in her professional career.
Mrs. Hasty graduated from Graceland University with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education with a reading endorsement. She received a Master’s in Educational Leadership in grades K-12 from the University of Central Missouri. She has mentored teachers, served on the Superintendent’s Teachers Advisory Committee, and participated in the LSR7 Leadership Academy.
Mrs. Hasty is committed to helping students, staff, and parents feel seen, appreciated, and respected. She loves to see students reach goals, find the fun in learning something new, and gain confidence with new skills.
Lee Barger, Ed.S.

Mr. Barger joined the Summit Lakes family in 2019. For the 2023-24 school year, he will be the 7th-grade assistant principal. He is also the Falcon activities/athletic director. He strives to ensure each student gains the skills to succeed at Summit Lakes and later in life. Supporting students, families, and staff by fostering positive
Mr. Barger has over 25 years in education and has worked in five Kansas City area school districts, beginning his career as a high school business/technology classroom teacher and coach. In addition, has provided teacher/administrator professional development focused on instructional technology as an instructional technology facilitator, technology coordinator, and instructional technology specialist. Finally, as an adjunct professor, he has taught graduate courses for several local universities that focus on teaching educators about integrating technology into the classroom.

Dominic Greenlee, Ed.S.

Mr. Greenlee will be serving as the 6th-Grade Assistant Principal at both Summit Lakes Middle School and Pleasant Lea Middle School. Prior to joining Lee's Summit, he served as a middle school math teacher, coding teacher, and high school math teacher in the North Kansas City School District and University Academy Charter School. In addition, Mr. Greenlee coached multiple sports at both the middle and high school levels. These sports include football, basketball and track.
Mr. Greenlee graduated from Truman State University with his Bachelor's in Exercise Science with a Health Studies minor He then went on to earn his Master's in Secondary Education through the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and afterwards his Education Specialist in K-12 Leadership from Northwest Missouri State University. Mr. Greenlee is excited to join the Lee's Summit family to continue his growth as a leader in education and give back to the community.
Mr. Greenlee is elated to continue developing the relationship between students, parents, teachers and community in Lee's Summit. He is passionate to ensure learning and growth within students in and out of the classroom. Mr. Greenlee cannot wait to be involved in the already-present equity and inclusion in such a successful school district.
