PRIVIT

NOTE: Privit accounts must be completed by end of the day on Thursday, 10/21/21 to allow for verification and approval.  Privit accounts created/updated after Thursday may not get approved in time to allow for athletes to try out or practice.  If your athlete participated in Cross Country, Football, Volleyball, or Cheer you will not need to complete a new Privit profile however your physical must still be valid to participate.

All athletes must have a completed and approved profile on the Summit Lakes Privit site if they plan on trying out or participating in athletics in the 2021-22 school year.  Parents/Guardians will need to create a Privit account in their name and then add their student-athlete to provide all information and sign all MSHSAA (Missouri State High School Athletic Association) documents. The Physical Form will be good for two years from the date of the exam.

Your athlete will not be able to participate in 2021-22 athletics (camp, tryouts, practice) until all 6 steps are completed (this needs to be complete annually after June 1st) – please make sure you mark ALL athletic teams your student plans on participating in, even if they haven’t made the team yet.  Also, please make sure the copy of the physical you upload is legible, and the photo/scan is clear.  Your athlete’s Privit profile must be reviewed by our office, which takes a few days, so please complete everything as soon as possible so your student does not have to miss any time with their sport.

If you have a Summit Lakes Privit account or have used Privit before at the high school level, please note you will NOT need to create a new account; however, you will need to make sure you log out of the high school link and use the link specific to Summit Lakes to create your athlete’s profile. You will find specific instructions walking you through this process, and copies of the physical examination and pre-participation forms located on our website.  Students participating in any middle or high school Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) sponsored sport or activity are required to pay a yearly participation fee to help offset the costs associated with providing these opportunities.  At the middle school level, the participation fee per student is $25.00.  This fee must be paid and processed (may take a few days) before the first contest.

PRIVIT APPROVAL PROCESS

All Privit accounts are approved manually.  Accounts may not get approved in time if submitted late in the day on a Friday or on the weekend before the 1st day of practice.  The Privit account must state Submission Complete and is green, or you may still need to complete additional items.

Clearance Status must also be green and state cleared to indicate the file is complete and your athlete’s file has been reviewed and approved by the Activities office before they are able to participate physically.

STUDENT  ACTIVITY INSURANCE  COVERAGE

The R-7 School district does not have accident insurance on students in the school district.  The cost of providing this would be prohibitive.  With this in mind, the Board of Education makes available a nominally priced insurance plan designed to be a supplement to the family’s own health insurance.  This plan has been offered by the R-7 School District for a number of years and is a contract directly between the family and the insurance company.  You may learn more information here.
